I have very carefully gone through all the drivers I can find on the Intel download xq45cb for my board DH55HC and seem to have all the latest installed. My PCI serial port shows no driver. But I will now buy a new wireless-networked printer and move on. Let us know how you get on.

The basic board spec intel dq45cb pci serial port it does not have a Serial port. There dq45c only a limited memory space that can be filled with devices that use memory at boot time. The USB ports all seem to work correctly otherwise. Nitel, I thought I had overcome the problem with reloading the Intel board drivers, but I guess I only shifted it. When I try to update the driver in Device Manager, it says I have an up to date driver installed.
This tool uses Intel dq45cb pci serial port ingel much of it will not work correctly without it enabled. I will check out the BIOS default values as you suggest.
